Flutter Entertainment, the world's largest online sports betting and gaming operator, has reported a surge in revenue and earnings despite challenges from unfavourable sports results.

The company saw a 14% increase in revenue in the fourth quarter, bolstered by strong performance in its UK, Ireland, and US markets, as reported by City AM.

In the UK and Ireland, Flutter enjoyed a 20% revenue growth, with sportsbook revenue up by 31% and iGaming by 16%, attributed to product innovation and favourable sports outcomes, especially in the English Premier League.

Across the pond, US revenue rose by 14%, with robust customer engagement and iGaming expansion mitigating lower sportsbook margins.

FanDuel, Flutter's online gambling subsidiary, continued to lead as the top sportsbook and iGaming operator in the US. This contributed to a 117% jump in net income to $156m (£121.88m) for the quarter.

CEO Peter Jackson commended the firm's ability to manage market fluctuations while retaining its leading position in crucial markets.

He stated: "A key driver of our success has been the Flutter Edge, our unique competitive advantage, which delivered innovative, market-leading product propositions to 35 million customers worldwide in 2024."

Jackson also reaffirmed the company's dedication to the UK market.

The company stated: "Outside of the US, our commitment to first-to-market product innovation led to market share gains in key markets including the UK and Italy, while in Australia, we saw encouraging trends in our player base."
